Jayems, I went through this same situation last year. Taking an advanced economics course (ugh calculus) and taking an honours poli sci degree. I needed high marks to stay in, get scholarships, and go to grad school. I was in anguish for a week, deciding what to do. I just went and talked to my honours supervisor and he said something like, if you are thinking about dropping out, you are going to eventually do it, so just do it now and save yourself the time.
I ended up doing it, the W does nothing to your transcript and I had the extra time to spend doing well in my other classes.

I think my mind is made up... but I'm really worried about the transfer of credits now.
Because if they haul down my GPA (which is guaranteed to happen if they count) I have nothing to lose by staying in the course..
But if they don't count against the GPA, then I can withdrawl...
