Values change every season with the dynamic of a fluctuating cap. For example; no one can think that Tavares is actually fairly paid in comparison to Kane/Toews with an AAV of 5.5 vs 10.5 and Gaudreau put up bigger numbers than all three players in his second pro year! If he was on a better team you can easily argue that Stanley cups/playoff accolades would easily be in the cards. Kane/Toews only went up to 6.3 AAV in their second deals respectively, however, that was a long time ago. That 6.3 AAV is probably more like 8.0 AAV this year imho.
Considering the Flames essentially do not have a team without Guadreau/Monohan, I would wager that fair value is even further up the ladder as the players and agents are fully aware of this.
