Unless one side is being ridiculous, the Monahan contract should not be difficult at all given the comparables out there.

I think Gaudreau's contract poses more difficulty given how unique a player he is (super skilled but also risk due to size).
Is there a history of small players putting up elite scoring numbers in the NHL and then failing? I can't think of any, just wondering how big of a risk that is?

I know I am always worried about a big man turning into Deadmarsh or Primeau or Lindros, but I am not really worried about injuries with a smaller player
