I am a bit of a newbie to back country camping but would love to start adventuring a bit more to get to some more remote areas for fishing. I was wondering what our resident CPers think of taking my dog along with me. She would love to, but I don't want to do something that wouldn't be safe. She is a medium sized dog (55-60 lbs), loves the outdoors and would have no issues joining but is it safe, in regards to bears and cougars?
