Revy and Whistler are truly world class resorts that can hold on their own against anything in the world. Fernie or Kicking Horse aren't there imo.

Yeah, you are probably right about Kicking Horse, and it has been a few years since I have been to Fernie, so I can't comment on the conditions—it was my favourite hill in the late '90s. I think Sun Peaks is right there with Whistler and Revelstoke: it comprises a larger area than Revelstoke, but is not in the same vertical range; it offers a huge variety of terrain. My biggest problem with living on the coast is the snow quality, and Whistler is no exception to this. Yes they get tonnes, but half the time it is far too wet and heavy for my tastes. Living in Chilliwack, I can still do day trips to Sun Peaks, and I tend to opt for this over even affordable Mt. Baker, and most definitely Whistler.
