This is sort of the opposite of what you're asking, but I think now the new NHL is passing him by and he'll never get a chance at a cup. I feel if he'd signed with better teams for 1 year each he'd have better stats which would allow him to play longer. Instead, he's floundering in a broken system in Colorado, and this coming year may be his last. I bet that if he was able to sign a 1 year deal with Chicago on July 1 this year for limited money, he'd have great success and his stats would skyrocket. He might even have gotten another contract for '17-'18. Instead, he'll get 30 points on a bad Avalanche team.
