The guy had a pretty bad season defensively but still put up decent points. His last playoff run with Chicago has to be considered a success even if he wasn't ripping the opposition up. I think he's a great acquisition. To me he's a 3/4 center who can step up during short injuries as well as someone who can teach the kids. I think it's a good fit for him, because Anaheim likes to slow the game down and play the boards where he excels. But I don't know if it's a great fit for Anaheim, they already have players who can do a lot of what he can, and there weakness seems to be speed through the middle. Vermette isn't going to shore up that deficiency.
