You have Pence saying condoms aren't an effective method of preventing STDs--while they're proven to be a very effective method for that--presumably to promote abstinence instead due to ideology.
You have most of the Republican party ignoring climate change science and lying about the effects of human activity on the CO2 levels in the atmosphere, because otherwise they have to actually deal with the problem.
Democrats have plenty of issues, certainly, but they generally don't pick religious ideology over scientific fact, and they at the very least pay lip service to the idea that our dependence on fossil fuels is a problem for our environment, just as two examples.
