Will Smith also has a percentage of revenues in most of his contracts, So he makes 20 up front and another 20 on the back end. I remember a few years back that there was no way to make MIB 3 because Smith, Tommy Lee Jones, and Spielbergs profit take added up to more than 100%.
The Movie industry has quite complex accounting. All we see is cost/box office, but the money is diluted and flowing through many channels it's hard to really know what is and isn't a success. You'll really only know if it made money if they make a sequel. haha.
