The bracket is many things. The bracket is all things. Two people of similar attractiveness might not even be in the same bracket, likewise for education and job level.
Hollywood would suggest that for men, the bracket may not exist, and for women, the bracket can be broken. There are 50 or 60 years worth of movies dedicated to those exact concepts.
In reality, the bracket is the bracket. You generally match best and most often with someone within yours.
