What Marvel did with Captain America is what DC should have done with Superman. There is no one as campy in concept as Captain America (and they even played off it in the first movie with his show tour). When Captain America was first announced to have a cinematic portrayal, I'm pretty sure I rolled my eyes.
Yet somehow Marvel has turned his cinematic character into this amazing, deep, engaging character who even us non-Americans love (seriously Winter Soldier has got to be one of my favourite movies, period).
Superman is the ultimate boy scout, and should have been given similar treatment. Instead we have this...well I don't even know what we have. A piece of plywood. An all-worldly powerful piece of plywood.
