Which is the worst thing a manager can do in extra innings - saving your best reliever for a save situation. You run the risk of losing the game without even using your best reliever.
Every inning has the game on the line as the road team in extra innings. So even if you don't trust someone with the pressure to get a save normally, you have no choice but to trust them with the game on the line (and with no margin for error like a save situation either). So you might as well use your best reliever early and give your offense another inning to try and score some runs.
