Kids! When I was a kid my favourite swimming spot was off a log boom on Texada Island. Later I liked gliding down the rapids sans inner tube on the Alouette River.
There used to be a rope swing at Buntzen Lake which was great although this is a picture of Whyte Lake on the North Shore. Buntzen Lake is part of the Vancouver water supply and used to be cut off from the public. I remember being chased through the woods by the warden and his dogs when we tried to go for a swim.

As has been mentioned though the rising population has made the swimming spots more crowded. I and my friends used to be able to skinny dip at Lafarge Lake but now it's a crowded park.
