Skrudland is my choice - he was captain material, and his loss in the expansion draft was a one of the worst examples of the poor Flames management in the '90s (nothing tops the Gilmour Macoun trade).
Nick Fotiu desrves a nod. He was very popular with the fans as a short-term Flame, but he also played a very important role in the Flames late season dominance of the Oilers in 1986. He totally neutralized the Oilers' goons and prevented their intimidation of the Flames 3rd and 4th lines. This allowed the Flames to use 4 relatively strong forward lines to outperform Edmonton's two top lines.
