I think this is more China's responsibility now. This has blown up in China's face, they were the one heading the 6 nations peace process - this has made China look very weak. This will have to be ultimately resolved by China, regardless of what the SC at the UN passes or does not pass.
The US can'tg swoop in Miltarily with China as their neighour, I'm sure you know that, but anything to take a political shot I guess.
