I get that people are keenly interested, but there is virtually no reason at all for the frequent expressions of concern that continue to appear in this thread.

No. I won't be terribly concerned if both Gaudreau and Monahan are not yet under contract by 14 Aug. The cut-off date for me is in the first week of Sept before the start of the WCH. This is the much more reasonable point to begin expressing concern because training camp is a fairly inflexible deadline for contracts to be signed. There is absolutely no pressing matters for either party to complete these deals by the second week of Aug.
* I will suggest that if the Flames had any arbitration cases to work through this summer, then I would expect that they would have had a greater urgency to ensure that the contracts were signed earlier. But since this is pretty much the last order of business before the start of the season, that urgency is just not there.
So, relax.
