I own a ram 2015 2500 6.4, made the switch from a 2008 ram 3500 cunmins. A gas will never tow as good as the diesel does, but for the 5-10 trips I pull a trailer every year it works just fine. Any trailer over 7000# I would get a model with a bigger engine (gm 6.2, Ford 6.2, ram 6.4). The base engines will tow them but it's a horror on fuel and the tranny.
