I'm not interested in discussing Rogers the corporation. I'll let you continue to rant and rave on that. I'm interested in discussing what is right for the baseball team. And signing Jose to a big ticket long-term deal is not right in the long-term.

I personally don't think resigning Bautista is the correct baseball move, assuming they use that money to fill his position with an adequate replacement. I have no love for Bautista.
That said, you are sill ignoring the fact that The Jays have long history and nickel and dimming players, which comes back to bite them in the ass come renegotiation time which has direct effect on baseball moves. Your not going to get any loyalty or discounts from players who feel they are in a constant battle with ownership.
