The major difference is the Brexiters weren't advocating starting trade wars and ignoring current trade agreements like Trump is. In fact most Brexiters wanted to stay in the economic zone and keep free movement of people. Trump is advocating much worse business policies than the Brexiters, and it will effect more corporations in America than the Brexit did. Plus there's that whole he's a 5 year old you can bait into anything part we have to remember.
