No one is "chicken littling" here. The sky isn't falling. It's not absurd to wonder if being here long term isn't in his plans. If not? Well that's not going to be the next few seasons. It's not unreasonable to speculate that's what's holding up the contract and that also would not preclude a deal getting done, just closer to a deadline and someone has to compromise (aka training camp).

He's alluded several times he wants to be here for long time, including in one of the quotes above.
There are always people "Chicken littling" here, on just about every topic. For a select few, they live in a constant state of chicken littling.
Lastly, you are the guy who told everyone there was "no way" Stamkos was staying in Tampa because it would have been done sooner rather than later. I'm not big on your idea of what is and isn't fair discussion.
