Offensively Ferland was disappointing last year but he was easily better than most of the bottom 6 all year in every other way. I think you are confusing who has a "hard on" for Ferland, and why. Probably less than 10% of this board views him as a top 6 solution. Most think he's a good 4th liner who can move up in a pinch and not look out of place. If you think Ferland is worse than that, I don't know what to tell you other than your standard for Ferland being a 4th liner is too high, higher than the standard you seem to hold others to.
