I used to think the handicap symbol of a stick man sitting in a 3/4 circle was the symbol for bathrooms (I though it showed someone sitting on a toilet). It made sense to me because it was on a lot of bathroom doors.

Seeing them in parking lots confused me though and I thought it was a place where homeless people could go if they needed to.
