For Ghostbusters, I thought the idea was terrible and the likely execution, once I saw the trailers - also terrible. Gender-reversing the original cast is just not funny, nor edgy, nor anything but a gimmick. It'd be like remaking Thelma & Louise as Elmer and Louis, well sure, you *could* do it, but why? That's what puzzles me, you have some of the best comedic actresses working together on a film, and the best idea you can come up with is to have them rehash something a bunch of guys did 30 years ago?
Anyway I'll eventually see it, since it is getting some good reviews. Maybe it's not "Ghostbusters meets the Three Stooges" as it appears to be in the trailers. Maybe. But probably not.
