1993 is probably the earliest year that I remember, and I would have been 5 years old. I can remember watching the L.A vs Montreal cup finals that year. I also recall watching Joe Carter hit the world series winning home run to win back to back world series. I have no recollection of that first world series win though.
In terms of non-sports related news I feel like the first real world news that I can recall would be the OJ Simpson bronco chase.
