The Flames have a bit of a risk factor involved..... Monahan and Gaudreau are both talented players..... how much was their scoring inflated in playing the Hartley-system... how will they adapt to a more standard NHL style?
Hartley looked at his best players and decided the only chance he had to win with the talent he had was too play a wide open style.
The Hartlley system that was designed specifically for them and Hudler and Gio and Brodie and Russell and Wideman. It was not a team that was going win a lot of loose pucks and score off a cycle.
Will these same players be as far ahead of the rest of the players on the team when they are playing more of a puck possession style or will Bennett-Brouwer-Tkachuk- Backlund-Hamilton move up in the hierarchy?
