You know it would be nice to say that something positive could come out of this tragedy. That it puts groups like the NRA and members of the anti-gun control crowd in an impossible box where they have to admit that in a lax gun control state with cops carrying firearms that this action wasn't prevented or stopped.

It would be nice if the anti-gun control groups and lobby's would have this argument hit close to home that its not just blacks and minorities that are at risk to gun violence, but everyone is at risk to gun violence.

It would be nice if this tragedy created an honest apolitical debate where the realization comes that the 2nd ammendment is becoming a suicide pact.

But instead by tomorrow we'll be getting the same old bs statements by the NRA and anti-gun control bozo's on both sides of the political aisle.

We'll get a tepid response from the government that will quickly get quashed.

And then a few days or a few weeks from now we'll get another major gun violence episode and people will wring their hands and talk about doing something or anything. Then they'll forget about it til next time.

These cops didn't deserve this, not every cop is bad, and I get the anger and separation because of the recent actions by police officers. But the minute that people are willing to separate their humanity to lash out like this against a convenient target is the minute that we might as well give up.
