There was a huge advantage for completing the gondola challenge on the first try.
I don't really like non-elimination legs this early in the race. Since there's fewer teams, I wonder if we'll see more non-elimination legs, or if there will just be fewer episodes?
Off to 'Nam next week.

The other day I was thinking about that Gondola challenge. If people weren't aided the second attempt (apparently they were?), how long would it have taken to have all of the teams finish? The tramway website says that a car leaves every nine minutes, but they were only using one car for the event. Between getting people ready, actual attempts, and raising (lowering?) failed attempts, it's hard to imagine groups of three attempts happening less than an hour apart. So if you failed on your first attempt, it might have been 3 hours before trying for a second time. With likely oncoming darkness, and mountain weather, the producers had to know that there was pretty much Zero chance of all the teams finishing that roadblock, right?
Taking the penalty of 4 hours was probably a smart move, until the producers gave all of the teams who didn't take a penalty a big break, because I have no idea how it should have been possible for all the groups to complete the roadblock in four hours.
