Yeah I like how he's willing to cut bait rather than get emotionally attached to players. Colborne is a nice guy and a great ambassador for the team. The type of player every organization loves to have but he wasn't willing to go to arbitration and possibly end up paying more for the player than he felt the team could afford. Difficult decision I'm sure but they ended up going separate ways. He obviously valued Ortio last season as he waited a long time to put him through waivers but after the season he came to the realization that for this organization to move forward he had to provide a better tandem for the team. Getting emotionally attached to players is what got the Flames into the cycle of missing the playoffs in the first place so it's nice to see a GM that is all business when it comes to making the difficult decisions.
