What would I care if people don't like Harper's kid? People don't like public figures for a plethora of reasons, a lot of them based in much less rationale than this. Read the HNIC thread, I'd be willing to bet a third of Canadians loathed Strombolopolis simply because of his suits.
If the people that loathed Harper also loathed his child that followed his path, I think it'd be a perfectly normal human tendency, and it's not exactly irrational to think a child is shaped by a parents opinions and actions.
If it's the rationale is correct however is another question all together, but he hasn't exactly made any leaps or bounds to change that opinion, weather its warranted or not.
