I'm having fun looking through other teams' pre-UFA-frenzy 'wish lists' and seeing how frequently his name popped up.

Troy Brouwer
Snapshot: He's 6-feet-3 and 213 pounds and has scored in the 20-goal range seven seasons running. Stood out in the playoffs for St. Louis with a gritty performance, plus 13 points in 20 games. Can play in all situations, go up and down lines, will go into corners and will fight. Has played 532 of 540 games in the last seven seasons.
Price point: If Brouwer, who turns 31 in August, can be had in $4.5-million range annually, it might be worth giving him five years. He's physical and, boy, do the Wings badly need a guy who shows up in the playoffs.

In the past seven seasons, Brouwer, who turns 31 in August, hasn’t scored fewer than 17 goals. Three times Brouwer has topped 20 goals in a season, and that includes a career-high of 25 as part of a high-octane Washington offence in 2013-14. His most productive season, however, was the lockout-shortened 2012-13 when Brouwer potted 19 goals in just 47 games – which put him on a 33-goal pace over a full regular season.

I've seen it mentioned in several places that he was expected to sign for $4.5m AAV and 4 or 5 years term. He's been signed for fair market value.
