They play different games. They have different abilities, they contribute different things.
If you want offence and speed at the expense of defence, get Boedker.
If you want defence and a hard edge at the expense of offence, get Brouwer.
These players are worth within 500k of each other (you be the judge if their salaries should be swapped), but will simply help you in different ways.
This isn't "a dynamic winger and a 3rd liner!" That's nonsense. They are both equally fitted to play on the exact same line regardless of the team they're on. We needed Brouwer far more than we needed Boedker. No question.
Regardless. Calgary isn't SJ. They weren't getting Boedker for $4 million.
