Worried about security? Buy a dog. When your kid plays with it, they won't wind up dead.

I read a Time magazine article a few years back. They had a big article on gun deaths in the US. The provided a picture of everyone who was killed by a gun over the course of a week. When you look at the data, for every time a gun is used for self defence there are 54 accidental fatalites.

I wouldn't allow my child to attend a school where the principal carried a firearm - even if he was perfectly sane, and well trained. It is the unforseen circumstances I would be worried about.
Yep I like the idea of outlawing things as well. I would ban the having or making of guns in Canada. Cigarettes as well. Ban them totally. LOts of things that are just health hazards. Hunters can sign up to go to Baffin Island and hunt or go Stateside. Same with those who want to target shoot.

Penalty for having a gun -- DEATH. A quick trial and death by lethal injection. Another problem solvable if only we had politicians who would act in the interest of common sense and not in the interest of obtaining or keeping power.
