To be fair, not many of us would have had the chance to really watch Larsson unless the Devils played the Flames or for some reason someone on CP follows the Devils as much as they did Calgary. Other then his name, he's a relatively unknown for most fans here and I doubt anybody has really truly taken the time to sit, watch and analyse him like they would say Brodie. So I'll take the world of Devils' fans when they say it's a big loss for them.
From what I've read, he seems like a poor man's Erik Johnson. Drafted pretty high, good defensively, but could never quite put it together offensively. He can still be on a 1st pairing, but more in a complimentary role then the guy anchoring the line. Potential to be a decent #2 if everything goes right for him.
We'll see how it goes. IMO the Oilers lost the better player, but Larsson will help their team much more so then Hall ever would.
