I really think the oilers should be pursuing guys that are already established dmen that can hold up a top 2 pairing themselves. Getting a young dman who is still growing into this role may be a bad idea, especially considering the oilers lack any vet leadership to help develop their d prospects along. they should be trying to overpay for a dman in his prime than young developing guys.
How much can they overpay for a suter? How about a staal or McDonough from nyr? It is time for a bold move already. They have SIX top 5 picks in their forward crop. I don't see why how a hall+Eberle or rnh doesn't buy you immediate d help. Either the rest of the league sees too little value in these forwards in which case the rebuild is truly a joke for the ages or the oiler brass over values these guys which would fall in line with the foregone conclusion that oilers management are flat out stupid.
What a joke of a franchise.
