Yeah, but for middling prospects and later round draft picks. That is an entirely different scenario than moving a high-end first rounder or an impact-level roster player.-

The reason why it could never happen with Edmonton is because NEITHER team is going to get the value they believe they need to recoup in a trade with their biggest rival. Quite simply, Treliving is not going to get what he wants from Edmonton in an exchange for Hamilton. Again, this is totally different than swapping later picks or moving a poor performing minor league player. Treliving can't afford to make a trade of this magnitude with the Oilers unless he absolutely robs them, and I don't expect that to happen.
