The
nations of Canada and the U.S. were set up on the premise of immigration. There were people here before that, but they weren't nations.
And I'm part native, so it was some of my ancestors who were here for thousands of years. Of course, they pushed some
other peoples out of
their turf in the New World to gain access to resources (or what was left after the megafauna were hunted to extinction). That's kinda the way humanity rolls, in every corner of the planet. Wave after wave after wave, displacing, conquering, assimilating.
