Of course that's ideal for the Flames, but that doesn't mean he's the asset others would be willing to give us what we need for.
1. He's the oldest of the 3, so less time in his prime, and a very heavy contract coming up at the tail end of his career.
2. Can the Flames even trade him optically?  What does that do to the internal locker room now, and what does that do to the Flames reputation?  I'm not saying for sure you can't, I'm just saying it's food for thought.
The Flames would have a much tougher time trading Gio for what they need to improve up front than Hamilton I believe.
