I think another thing that gives hesitation about Elliott is that STL has seemed desperate to give the starting job to Allen. On the huge plus side, Elliott consistently plays well enough to make that impossible.

I think Ortio would be a fine backup on a 1-2 year deal. No need to sign Reimer as well.
