It would have been the same but the other side had the results been flipped.
Voter turnout was enormous. Democracy prevailed. The status quo was not working for a majority of voters.
The country needs to get the anger out of their system in the next day or two and then come together for the next step moving forward.

Yes, democracy prevailed. All pigs are equal, some are just more equal than others. Tyranny of the majority might be a form of democracy but's not a good one.
I'm going to link this article from Vice (pardon the source, I know it's garbage) but this opinion piece I think really hits the nail on the head on the anti-immigration movement.
