Depends on your definition of that question. Kipper is arguably the most extreme situation, but I think there are a fair # of times this has happened.

Ben Bishop (Blues draft pick originally)
Cam Talbot
Mike Smith?
JS Giguere
Devan Dubnyk
Craig Anderson
Martin Jones?
Antti Niemi?
Jaro Halak
But it is hard to answer because of the word "discovered". Were these guys above projected to be #1st when they were traded or not. It is a bit subjective. However, it isn't unusual for a guy to not emerge as a #1 until they get an opportunity in another organization.
