Come on. Most NHL teams struggle to ice "good" second and third defense pairings, and I seriously doubt that there are many teams whose collection of bottom three defensemen looks much better.

Joe Colborne outscored Mikael Granlund, Gustav Nyquist, Nino Niederreiter, Chris Kreider and Chris Kunitz in fewer games played last season. If he is the team's sixth best forward, then that should be good enough to at least make the playoffs. If they miss the post-season by 10 points it is likely because of their inability to keep goals against down, which has been a problem for the last two seasons.
