I think I was pretty clued in to the Destiny world in the first year or so after release. I put in enough hours.
But there were some maybe minor things that took me way too long to figure out:
- The soft tone/beeping sound you hear occasionally when out patroling on your sparrow is from going in reverse.
- Similarly, Hawkmoon makes a distinctive sound when firing the lucky shot. I had used it for about 2 months before my buddy (who finally just got it) pointed that out to me. With all the chaos of Crucible, so much that I didn't know.
- Maybe the most embarrassing, I didn't really 'get' the Titan jump until I spent a good couple hours messing around in Crota's End solo. I would always jump, approach my peak, then hit jump to get my double jump in and hopefully reach higher. It mostly worked for me (hey, it got me from the Alpha until a good month into Crota's end). Then I finally put it together that double tapping jump the first time actually makes for a much higher arc. I've never tried Warlock, but I think I should stay away. I hear the jump is terrible.
