They both mocked each other, Tyrion just get the better of Theon.
And in any regards, that's not really a continuity error as much as perspective and remembrance. It's been 5 years (or however long each season is) and Tyrion probably isn't going to recall the event as him being a dick as well, instead he'll remember Theon calling him The Imp as he leaves Winterfell...
