Default Courtesy Waves

After reading the topic about the playground zones someone brought up the fact that 'thank-you' or courtesy waves are extinct. I'm not one to care too much about them (Although it does makes your day better when someone happens to give you one) but I thought I'd share this story in hoping to cheer some people up...

On the way to Fernie two weekends ago I was driving down highway 3 (I'm from Lethbridge now for school) and there was a trucker in front of me. There was a break in on-coming traffic so I decided to pass and he saw this and moved over as much as he could onto the shoulder. Once in front of him I had to think of a way of thanking him but being as it was night I couldn't give the normal wave so I gave him the courtesy four-way blinkers for a couple seconds. Miraculously in return he gave me the return courtesy high-beam flash!

It might have been my favourite driving moment I've ever had.

Hopefully people have faith in mankind again... and if that trucker ever reads this I hope he knows that it was an awesome show of gratitude cause he didn't even have to acknowledge me.
