Strombo is a great media personality and tv host. But for whatever reason it just didn't seem to translate well on the hockey broadcasts.
I don't always agree with him but MacLean always brings more in depth and stirring conversation to the table. He just seems to be able to access issues that are deep rooted parts of the culture of the game. I think the more hardcore hockey fans want that, they don't just want to see someone update them on scores and throw to commercials.
