It's chlorinated, but the sun breaks down most of the residual chlorine so there's not really much in the lake itself. The treatment plant handles about a million gallons of water a day and there's typically 7 million gallons of water in the lake. Water samples are submitted to Alberta Health once a week and although lakes have more wiggle room, typically test better than many of the outdoor public pools in Calgary.
