The Capitals are breathing a sigh of relief today after the announcement that Glen Gulutzan – and not Caps assistant Todd Reirden – has been named the new head coach of the Calgary Flames.
Reirden, who has been an assistant coach with the Capitals the past two seasons under Barry Trotz, was reportedly one of three finalists for the job in Calgary, along with Gulutzan and Chicago Blackhawks assistant Kevin Dineen.
