The mention of Columbus was more in the context of who they think will go top-3 since there have been rumours that the Jackets might be interested in someone other than one of the big three guys in the rankings. If someone ahead of you takes someone unexpected, it means that your "top eight" list can become a "top ten", which opens the possibility of trading down.
It really sounded like they're much more likely to trade down from 6 than to trade up.
As we've heard a few times before, it really sounds like they're planning on moving a second rounder (at least) for a goalie.
Burke's mention of Jankowski being slow was more about not yet playing at an NHL pace than it was about his actual speed. He said that Janko's fundamentals are great and his shot should be shown to kids to show them how to shoot, but he just needs to get up to the pace of the NHL. It sounds like they expect him to get there, just not sure if it'll be out of camp; midseason; or if he'll need at least a full year in the AHL.
Also with regards to Jankowski, Treliving mentioned that a lot of kids coming out of junior, college, and Europe don't show enough respect for the AHL, and they need to understand that you're now fighting for a job with guys who are 32 years-old, married with 3 kids and playing in the AHL is how they feed their families. Treliving mentioned that in the context that Jankowski wasn't like that and showed up willing to work and do what was asked of him in Stockton.
As others have said, this was probably the worst Q&A I've attended.
