Carolina and the Flames started the rebuild at the same time
They were both bad teams that year when the Canes picked Lindholm ahead of Monahan.
After taking on Bickell's contract the Canes have 25M cap left with only Victor Rask as an important unsigned RFA and a goalie to replace Cam Ward on a team that was 9 pts better in the standing than the Flames.
The Flames need to sign Carolina's cap manager.
