I don't think Brown has the same skillset at Getzlaf nor is he as physical a player. Getzlaf slid out of the first round due to character concerns as he got his leadership stripped from him. With Brown it's not a character thing and more of a question of if he truly loves to play the game and has the drive to always be trying to get better. The elite players in the NHL are always working on getting better because they truly love to play the game and want to be the best they can be. Monahan's best trait was that he was a serious, hard working guy and that's why he's translated well to the NHL. You would think most players would be totally jacked up for their draft season trying to be the best they could be for scouts and Brown was a no-show for half a season. That's a little troubling.
